Memorial Trophy

The Janis Novak memorial trophy project was approved by the WDA, and the first trophy will be presented at this years North American Sieger Show in Pittsburg.   We would also like to invite any contributors to stand with Dennis Novak and family for the presentation of the trophy at NASS.  The main trophy and replicas have been personalized by Leikopf trophies, and are now in the US, ready for their Sieger show debut.

Thanks to suggestions from some thoughtful members, the staff here at GSDWorld have decided to organize a revolving memorial trophy that will be presented at the sieger show in Jan’s honor.  It’s obvious that Jan touched the lives of many in the dog world and beyond, but especially her friends and family here at GSDWorld.  We literally wouldn’t be here without her.

The trophy would be presented at NASS, to the highest placing American bred dog, starting this year.  The winner would receive a smaller replica trophy or plaque, and a photo of their dog with the revolving trophy. The actual revolving trophy would have to be large, to accommodate several years winners names on it. The WDA office would keep possession of the actual trophy.

We have been in contact with the WDA, and the idea will be presented at their board meeting at the end of this month.

We’ve also set up a paypal account so that we can collect donations towards the trophy.  This is not mandatory, nor is it strictly limited to GSDWorld members, but this project is being done on behalf of GSDWorld and sponsored by us.

Janis was a selfless and caring individual, always willing to lend a hand to anyone be it here at her ‘internet home’ or at a show with the dogs she so loved.  We can’t think of a better individual to have a trophy in their honor.
